Making a profit is every businessman’s goal but sharing some part of it to the society, the community and the vulnerable, is a responsibility of the corporate sector.

- Late Chairman, Laxman Babu Shrestha

Laxman Babu Shrestha Memorial Trust
Established in 2014 by the Chitawon Co-E Group in memory of its Late Chairman, the Laxman Babu Shrestha Memorial Trust is dedicated to the support of Nepali community welfare through advocacy and implementation of effective social, environmental, health and economic services.
As the majority of the company’s related works are based outside the valley, we identified a significant gap in accessible welfare services in the out of valley regions. Therefore, the trust has centred developmental efforts in the greater Gorkha region, a comparably remote area which houses more vulnerable community members.

The trust is a registered non-profit organization with the following objectives:

  1. Community Education Provide scholarship for tuition and related school expenses to children of economically vulnerable families to attend school.
  2. Family empowerment Provide scholarship to children of economically vulnerable families for vocational training such as plumbing, carpentry, electrician, overseer, and engineering.
  3. Disaster Relief Services Provide aid to affected communities in times of natural disaster.
  4. Cultural Welfare Provide financial assistance for construction of schools, religious and cultural places and temples, etc. within the Kathmandu valley.
  5. Volunteer services Collect and utilize funds donated by Nepalese living abroad and foreign donors, according to the objective of this trust.
  6. Community Development Provide physical and financial assistance to social, religious, cultural, educational, spiritual, economic, and charitable services within the Nepalese society.
  7. Child Welfare Improve the lives and well-being of children who live below the poverty line, children who are deprived of basic education and health care services, and children who have lost their mother and/or father due to poverty, by providing them with physical and financial assistance as well by any other suitable means.
