The trust is a registered non-profit organization with the following objectives:
- Community Education Provide scholarship for tuition and related school expenses to children of economically vulnerable families to attend school.
- Family empowerment Provide scholarship to children of economically vulnerable families for vocational training such as plumbing, carpentry, electrician, overseer, and engineering.
- Disaster Relief Services Provide aid to affected communities in times of natural disaster.
- Cultural Welfare Provide financial assistance for construction of schools, religious and cultural places and temples, etc. within the Kathmandu valley.
- Volunteer services Collect and utilize funds donated by Nepalese living abroad and foreign donors, according to the objective of this trust.
- Community Development Provide physical and financial assistance to social, religious, cultural, educational, spiritual, economic, and charitable services within the Nepalese society.
- Child Welfare Improve the lives and well-being of children who live below the poverty line, children who are deprived of basic education and health care services, and children who have lost their mother and/or father due to poverty, by providing them with physical and financial assistance as well by any other suitable means.
Our Activities
Sep. 2022 - Tribhuvan Library Reconstruction, Gorkha
The Tribhuvan Library in Gorkha was established by the Late chairman in B.S. 2008 |A.D.1951. After experiencing heavy damage in the Gorkha Earthquake, the building has been successfully reconstructed and was recently inaugurated on the 28th of June, 2022. The trust has contributed NPR 1,000,000 towards reconstruction efforts and believes that the library will provide great support towards community education and services.
May. 2021 - COVID-19 Relief Response
Mankamana Cable car with Laxman Babu Memorial Trust has focused on assisting rural areas and handed over 8 units of Oxygen Concentrator (7 litre per minute flow), for immediate treatment of cases presenting mild to medium severity, as our part in combating the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Head of Station Administration Sashi Shrestha along with senior staff handed over the machine amidst a very brief program, abiding with health & safety protocols.
Feb. 2021 - EKG Medical Equipment Donation
The trust handed over a portable ECG machine to the Mugling Highway hospital, Mugling which enables the hospital to provide mobile medical care and improve health accessibility for vulnerable groups.
April. 2019 - Bindabasini Gate Construction
The trust handed over a portable ECG machine to the Mugling Highway hospital, Mugling which enables the hospital to provide mobile medical care and improve health accessibility for vulnerable groups.
July. 2018 - Miss Nepal Shrinkhala Khatiwada, Beauty with a Purpose Project
A cheque of NPR 500,000 was handed over to Miss Nepal Shrinkhala Khatiwada today in support of her Health Post construction program in a remote area of Makwanpur district to serve the vulnerable and underserved Chepang community.
March. 2017 - Dialysis Medical Equipment Donation (along with Ani Choying Dolma)
The trust donated two units of hemodialysis machine to the Arogya Pratishthan who have recently opened a dialysis unit at Suvekcha Hospital, Sita Paila. A cause very close to our hearts, the machine was donated in memory of Laxman Babu Shrestha , who passed away due to kidney failure. The trust has more plans to get involved with causes towards fighting kidney disease in the nation.
Feb. 2017 - Restoration of Bhimeshor Temple, Dolkha
The trust was one of the donors and contributors for painting and decorating the famous Bhimeshor Temple in Dolkha.
Jan. 2016 - Clothing Distribution to underserved and minority Chepang community of Darechowk VDC
Warm jackets distributed to 200 chepang and deprived students of 4 schools in remote Darechowk VDC of chitawon from the trust.
May. 2015 - “10,000 Mothers Support Program”, Earthquake Relief Response
The Laxman Babu Shrestha Memorial Trust handed over essential medical supplies and Rs 15,000 in cash to Jyotsna Maskay, Chairperson of LOOM Nepal.

The 10000 mothers support program was established after the 2015 earthquake to provide immediate and short term (6 months) support to pregnant women, women with children and small children. The objective of the program is to provide assistance to the women through provision of a bucket filled with everyday essential items such as toothbrush, toothpaste, clothes, sanitary pads, baby food, soap, etc., with the ambitious goal is to reach out to 10,000 mothers.
May. 2015 - Earthquake Relief Response
The recent massive earthquake in Nepal with its epicentre at Gorkha, birth place of our Late Chairman and its devastating consequences has prompted us to do the relief work in Gorkha with close coordination with the local administration.

The first phase of the relief work covered 5 village development committee (VDC )in Gorkha and 2 in remote VDC in Chitawon district.Distribution over 1000 tents, foodstuffs ,water and sanitation items and served over 14000 people.
Second phase covered 1 remote VDC of Chitawon and four more VDC’s of Gorkha.
In total, 11 VDC of Gorkha and 3 VDC of North Chitawon.
Upon completion of relief works, shifted focus to rehabilitation works with our expertise from the Chitawon Construction founded by Late Chairman, we are working on low cost housing for affected families.
Although the primary focus was in Gorkha we also provided our expertise and technical assistance to other parts of the affected areas.
May. 2015 - Education Sponsorship Support
9 year old Anuska, 6 year old Prashana, and 10 year old Sonia of Himalayan English Secondary School, Bhaktapur just finished their first term exam. Their education is being sponsored by the Laxman Babu Shrestha Memorial Trust.

These kids’ homes were destroyed by the earthquake, and considering their circumstances, they did remarkably well in their exams. Prashana and Sonia are living with their family in rented rooms, while Anuska’s family is still living in a tent.
Sports
- The group is supporting Manakamana Cable Car Pokhara Cup international football Tournament to Kaski Football Association, Pokhara for a period of 5 years for the development of the game and sports tourism in Pokhara.
- The group is also contributing financial assistance to Nepal Bodybuilding & Fitness Association for 5 years for development of the Body Building & Fitness Sports.
